Update 3.0

Released with Dawn of the Delta: stamps for your layouts, new statistics tabs, more goods consumption at every difficulty and cheaper festivals.

The new Items tab of the statistics, listing an island's specialists and where one of them can be obtained

Released

Update 3.0 came out on 5 November 2026 together with Dawn of the Delta, the third expansion, which adds Aegyptus as a third province. Besides the changes below, it fixes well over 200 bugs.

New

  • Stamps: what you select with the copy tool, which now has a stamp icon, can be saved as a stamp, renamed and sorted into folders. On PC, stamps are files you can share with other players.
  • Statistics: a Storage tab shows your stock, how it changes and your passive and active trade, and an Items tab lists the specialists you own and where to get the ones you don't. Here, Specialists & items shows where each one comes from.
  • Quests can be hidden from the quest log and brought back from the quest book.
  • Festivals can be accepted automatically (Options > Game).
  • High-contrast backgrounds and text for the interface (Options > Interface).
  • Saves from before the update get a short introduction to stamps and notes.

Balance

  • Consumption: new games consume more goods. Each difficulty now starts one consumption setting higher: Easy on Medium (125%), Medium on High (150%) and Hard on the new Very High (175%). Existing saves keep their setting, and new games start with more money.
  • Festivals: the goods that start a festival follow their value, so you give more of a cheap good and less of a dear one. From the middle of the game they cost less money, and at the end 25,000 coins instead of 50,000.
  • City status: the penalties to an island's attributes rise more gently as it grows, above all at the second and third tiers. The late-game values stay the same.
  • Aqueducts: adds +100% water supply instead of +200%, and +25% instead of +50%.
  • All shrines reach 22 tiles.
  • The Sandarac Nursery counts as a plantation, so plantation boosts reach it, and aqueducts irrigate it again.
  • The Bread the Liberti eat because of the Amphitheatre's splendour drops to what the Plebeians eat.
  • Slower research settings earn more difficulty points.
  • Escort contracts: the escorted ships keep up, attackers appear farther from the convoy, and the convoy starts near the lighthouse where you took the contract.
  • Forests cover a similar share of the islands at every difficulty.

Changes

  • Festival decisions show how much of each good you have in storage.
  • The war declaration screen is clearer, and storage icons are easier to read with passive trade settings on.
  • The construction menus of the Amphitheatre and the Hippodrome show each phase more clearly.
  • The upgrade tool names the building beside the upgrade cost.
  • Photo mode's camera can move into buildings, for shots through arches and gates. Consoles show the right screenshot button.
  • When players' mods differ in multiplayer, the warning names them. The pause menu shows whether the game is modded, and the mod check covers sub-mods too.
  • Escape in a trade route's details goes back to the route overview, and the game remembers its window size.
  • The Trading Pier's goods window is called Goods instead of Items.
  • On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S the game takes less space, which keeps later updates smaller. This update is a bigger download.

Fixes

  • Crashes on the notification for expired notes, while idling in a versus game, shortly after loading some saves, and on Xbox Series X|S when joining a session in progress.
  • Desyncs in new co-op campaign games and from notes; co-op saves load again after an opponent was defeated.
  • The autosave limit works on consoles.
  • Automatic graphics settings no longer turn on frame generation at Low, and turn on FSR 3 frame generation for RTX 30 cards.
  • Aqueducts have to cross rivers and cliffs in a straight line and can't end on them. Old saves keep their aqueducts.
  • Trade route ships no longer keep returning to the same island.
  • Specialists meant to boost a whole production chain now do.
  • Better frame rates in the achievement menus, the quest book archive, road highlighting and large cities.
