A chariot race on the Hippodrome, with crowds lining the track

Released

Update 2.0 came out on 20 August 2026 together with The Hippodrome, the second expansion, whose Hippodrome holds chariot races.

New

  • A photo mode with a free camera, a time of day of your choosing and lens effects such as depth of field and tilt shift.
  • Notes: write them, drop them into the world and set a timer to be reminded.
  • Honoured guests visit you depending on your prestige, and new heroic specialists come with them.
  • A replace mode clears everything under a building as you place it, to make room for large buildings quickly.
  • Production buildings open their statistics from their own menu.

Balance

  • Residents eat about 50% more Bread, and as a need it adds three residents instead of two. Water mills make flour faster, in 20 seconds instead of 30.
  • The buffs of the Amphitheatre were reworked. One of its splendour levels makes bread a need of the Liberti, which raises bread consumption further; a residence's menu lets you stop the consumption of a good.
  • The effects of monuments cover the whole island.
  • Major incidents affect many more buildings.
  • Diplomatic gifts are worth much less, and festivals come less often.
  • Vulcan's buffs act on the Gold Mine and the Coal Mine as well as the Gold Washer and the Charcoal Burner; Mars' buffs on the coal mine as well as the charcoal burner.
