Patch 1.6

Released with the Blooming Cities Pack: landscaping patterns, Vulcan's buffs for every gold and coal producer, and the Prophecies of Ash story quest fixed.

A formal garden laid out in diamond-shaped beds of flowers, among the houses of a city

Released

Patch 1.6 came out on 18 June 2026 together with the Blooming Cities Pack, a cosmetic DLC.

Highlights

  • Vulcan's buffs act on every producer of gold and coal.
  • The main quest of Prophecies of Ash starts again.
  • Construction grids no longer disappear.
  • Raiders no longer send new ships while their enemies are close.

Changes

  • A new cosmetic category, Landscaping Patterns, with the Ambrosian Forest and Celtic Forest garden patterns.
  • In co-op, a player can switch an object's skin to one of their own, even when they do not own the current one.
  • The demolish tool removes the ornaments on a ground plate before the plate itself.
  • Making peace delays further diplomatic agreements as it should.
  • Ornaments say where they come from: the Hall of Fame, a Twitch drop or a pack.

Fixes worth knowing

  • The volcano's tremors are no longer felt in Albion.
  • Neferneru no longer declares war at once when you settle on the continental island.
  • Canals count their tiles correctly. Rebuild one canal tile to have an existing count corrected.

Hotfix 1.6.1

  • Earthquakes have opened more building space on Cinis. The change works in existing savegames; the new ground has no new mine or river slots and no coast.
  • Vigiles repair the buildings the volcano or its tremors destroyed.
  • A rival's vassal islands can be reclaimed, and are released once their owner is defeated.
  • An exploit that gave free goods at traders with a gamepad is closed.
